WLIR/WDRE 92.7 screechend tapes1980-1986

Postby wormster » Tue Feb 10, 2009 8:57 am

These tapes are from WDRE's screechend. They try to recap every screamer and shriek from WLIR and WDRE.It begins with the very first screamer 1980 and continues till 1986, that is where i must have stopped or.. i cant find the rest. The tapes are unedited and have the original commercials. Some songs from the beginning are still old rock songs, they didn't go truly new wave until mid 1981.Not every screamer or shriek is on these tapes,i guess the dj's had some discretion on them, most are though. If you like vintage tapes this is the mother load of them... enjoy....

Thanks wormster. I have a few tapes from the Malibu live Saturday night broadcasts (WDRE), but I don't know how to put them onto my Imac and convert it. Will figure it out one day.

Hey, I'm new "wave" to this. I tried to download the 82 tapes but the links are broken or outdated. Any chance you'll upload those early tapes again? I am really interested in early WLIR. Or if you posted somewhere else. Thanks
