Hello Schwenko
Yep, I was aware of Saltyka's article on Haircut 100.
The problem is that there are several versions of "Half Baked" in existence:
-the original with only 10 tracks. this is the one given to my friend N. in Wales by Arista Records.
-a later edition with 14 tracks (4 bonus tracks). This is the Bruised Fruit version I have and Saltyka lists.
Best, J.

I can tell you that Bruised Fruit was the work of 2 people that compiled many tracks to produce cd-r s. It was not a record company, but rather a labor of love.(I personally met one of the Braised Fruit in the lobby of the old NY Times building one cold night to exchange cd-r s)

Sugoi !!!
[/quote]Hi Schwenko
Delighted to hear from you. As I was really keen to get more information on Bruised Fruit. But you are writing in the past tense. This means Bruised Fruit is no longer in business? Really a pity as I am after their Nick Heyward CDrs.
Thanks again & best, Johan
Hello Qbertqubes
"Half Baked" is the second album as it should have been released in 1983. The "Blue Hat.." 12 inch pressing has been taken from this album and was released in 1983, according to my sources.
"Paint and Paint" was indeed released in 1984.
But where in thunderation did you obtain your copy of "Half Baked" and how many tracks does it have?
My thanks in advance, J.

Hello Schwenko
kennethinthe212 is no longer/not a member of this forum.
My friend Wes Holley and I sent umpteen messages to the BruisedFruitCDs but there is not any answer at all.
Are you sure BruisedFruitCDs are still in business?
All season's greetings, J.

Sigh, keep believing that even though there's no evidence of it being that.

I would guess that there should be some offical promo vids for those 3 singles,as they were on a major label, and were still considered an established band back in 83/84,but i don't see anything on youtube, there is this video for one of their bsides but i cannot say if it is offical - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW0BqlwPlI0

The video is not official since the song was a b-side.

Would of thought that there should be some promo videos as well but are conspicuous by their absence. Be great to see them so hopefully one day they'll turn up.

the youtube uploader stated as offical, but as both you and i stated the track was a bside,it certainly had me thinking the youtube uploaders boast as being somewhat dubious, therefore i couldnt endorse it as being official in my first post.

to me it looks like a muted excerpt from something like "Howards Way" or maybe "Bergerac"!!!!

The song itself is half decent IHMO.....

Still no luck on searching for any evidence for any promo's for those 3 singles[:(]..........

you would think with the pre-order popularity that there would have been a video made but perhaps with the loss of heyward, the record company decided not to bother spending money on any promo. strange that the other members never talk much about the record. it's a given that heyward wouldn't talk about it but the others? come on, it's a great record!

My money's on Bergerac due to the OB shots!

I wouldn't have minded hearing a couple of more tracks in that vein as it gives some nice variation to the sound. It's a decent track and more original b-sides would of gave something back to the fans.

The only promo work I know of is when they appeared on Crackerjack but don't know which song they preformed.

Once the marketing device left, the focus went back to the adult market since that is the natural home for this type of music. Since they aimed it at kids initially meant that the rest of them were stuffed no matter how good the music is.

The lack of promo is kind of strange. The album cover is very muted and you would of thought Polydor would of gone for the same bright summery images of the first album. The one promo photo I've seen from this period has the band dressed in dark colours. It seems the record company gave up before they started. Then again it is kind of understandable since as mentioned before, the adult market is the natural home for this type of music.

I too find it peculiar that none of the others want to talk about it. The lack of Mark Fox in the recent Haircut 100 tour is very telling.
