What is the purpose of 'Rate Your Music' ?! I can't play, buy, or download music from it. If it's meant as a resource, then Discogs is far better.

I apologise for the bad link.
RateYourMusic is a database only.
You can not buy from them - not like Discogs.
Which means they are objective - unlike Discogs.
And they allow you to post bootlegs or inofficial CDs.
As long as you obey their rules.
But you can not download music from RYM ,as a rule.
I am persona non grata at Discogs.
Discogs went as far as sending me a virus!!!!!!
I will try to post another link
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/unaut ... ost_album/
Hope this works...

It suddenly dawned on me you folks are unaware that Discogs was purged of most inofficial releases.
You will not find "Half Baked" on it any more.
Discogs conducted a witchhunt.
Although I never sold a bootleg in my life I was drawn in.
As one of my friends was involved.
Things were so bad I contemplated calling my lawyer.
However, RYM allows inofficial releases.
And thank you df118 for re-opening old wounds.
You are on your own now.
For I will ignore your messages.

Paint and Paint is one of my all-time favourite albums and proved that they didn't need the marketing device to make good music. The splitting up of the band was very fractious with the rest of the band trying to stop the marketing device releasing 'Blue Hat to put on your Blue Bellend' or something like that by going to court. Heyward tried to pay the band to stay with him for the album.

Mark Fox proved a capable front man and with great tracks like 'Fish in a Bowl', 'Infatuation', 'Prime Time', "Too Up Two Down' etc. It's a great shame that the natural home for their music is adult market but once you've been associated with the teenyboppers, you've had it, sadly.

On the BR show, Mark "apologizes for ruining your band" to Nick. I would love to hear this record though.

"Half Baked" is the second album as it should have been released in 1983. The "Blue Hat.." 12 inch pressing has been taken from this album and was released in 1983, according to my sources.
"Paint and Paint" was indeed released in 1984.
But where in thunderation did you obtain your copy of "Half Baked" and how many tracks does it have?
My thanks in advance, J.

Not to start a war or anything, but the site even lists BOTH "Half Baked" and "PAP" as their "second album", so it does get confusing.

Yeah I saw that, not fake or forced at all.

There's a few tracks on this channel from Paint and Paint. Here's 'Too Up Two Down'' from Paint and Paint:

An inofficial CD was made from the official analog tape of "Paint and Paint".
The sound quality of the CD is great as a sound engineer made it.
If anyone out there wants it I can provide my friend's e-mail address. J.
PS. I still consider it the third album.!

Yes, a Haircut version of "Blue Hat" with vocals does exist.
But it is probably a non-legal version.

Hallo
Unfortunately I do not own a copy of "Blue Hat".
I did get a CD-R with some other unreleased tracks by Haircut from my friend Noah in Wales.
However, you have to ask him.
(Noah is on this forum.)
An impossible person does possess Haircut's version of "Blue Hat".
But he does NOT want to share.
And he is so nasty that he was thrown from Facebook,
Which means he is a dead alley..
By the way, an inofficial CD of all official 12 inches by Haircut also exists.
I will try to post the link

Best wishes, J.

I have the paint and paint album on vinyl. I transferred it to cassette.

Haven't digitized or heard in decades though.

An official tape of "Paint and Paint" does exist.
That tape was digitalised as an inofficial CD.
I can give you my friend's address if you want to.
But you do realise he asks money for it?
Best, J.
