As someone who listen mostly to Britsh bands, I have always tought that, when you´re listening to music, it doesn't matter if you don't understand the lyrics. If you like the music, that's enough. That's why I tought that it would be nice to share with you some good old 80s punk and new wave from my country.
These bands came to prominence in the mid 80s, around the same time of the end of a 12-year dictatorship here in Uruguay, so the lyrics reflect that paticular time in the hsitory of the country. Muiscally, they were influenced mainly by British bands. I discovered them when I was just getting into music, when I was just 12. Even tough I didn't buy albums of any of these bands (I was too young), used to pray for my favourite radio station to play their songs.
