Ray Manzarek dies

Postby oldnewwaver » Mon May 20, 2013 10:06 am

I know that he was on the Doors but he died today at age 74.
remember he produced the first 4 records of the band X and played the keyboard on Echo and the Bunnymen's Bedbugs and Ballyhoo off their self titled LP from 1987. Echo also covered People are Strange and Soul Kitchen.
For many who saw Echo tour in support of this record, may remember their love show from the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles when Ray came out and played a number of tunes with them including Bedbugs, Soul Kitchen and People are Strange! It was a great and surreal collaboration. I am glad I was there to see it!
