I think the intention of the book was great to focus on how original the artwork and the thinking behind 45 singles by the artists is interesting but could have focused more on NW instead of including heavy metal, pop and rap.
But had some cool single artwork and some that were sadly missing...

In my opinion, Reynolds's Rip It Up And Start Again (UK edition) is head and shoulders above anything else written on the 1978-1984 period. His book on 80s electronic dance music is good too, although I'm not as into the genre. The only other good book I've read on 80s music is This Band Could Be Your Life, which focuses on indie.

agreed on Simon Reynolds book but different type of book
one is history of post punk and new wave, the other is more on the art work on singles and 45s
