Favourite Sad Song(s)

Which songs make you cry or put you in a sad mood? It might be the music, the vocals or the lyrics, or all of this combined. Here are my favourite:
Waves - Blancmange- Those synths.....and Neil Arthur dramatic singing.
Smalltown Boy - Bronski Beat-It has everything so I think it's probably the saddest song EVER and it's, in my opinion, the BEST SONG OF THE DECADE.
He's So Strange and Fading Fast -The Go-Go's- Two dark spots in two otherwise quite celebratory albums.
One Better Day- Madness- The story of a homeless couple, so it HAS to be sad. The best song Madness recorded and number 2 in my list of the best songs of the deacade.
King Of Pain and Wrapped Around Yor Finger-The Police- Sting's singing.
Washed Up And Left For Dead and Selling Out Your Future- The Selecter- Both songs tell the story of someone being rejected by society.
Life On Your Own and Darkness- The Human League- Phil Oakey certainly knew how sing these songs and added emotion to the synthezised music. The best songs of them I've heard so far.
The Unforgettable Fire- U2- All parts of the song are perfect but my favourite is Bono's singing- so heartfelt. The best song of them I've heard so far.
Nobody's Diary- Yazoo- Alison Moyet's vocals are perfect. In my top 5 songs of the decade, too.

I've always been partial to "Never Never" by The Assembly as a more sombre track of the era. Maybe also others like:

Through the Barricades by Spandau Ballet or;
later to mid-term-Duran like Come Undone and Ordinary World.
Time after Time by Cyndi Lauper is another.
Speaking of Cyndi- True Colours is a 'nice' Emo track too
You're The Best Thing by Style Council is another I like...

Sure to be more!

Pictures of You - the Cure
Vienna - Ultravox
Always Unknowing - Roxy Music

Not sad enough to make me cry, but sad enough with some stark beauty to make me appreciate the mood they create and evoke.

For me there's only two. First is Only You-Yazoo. Before everyone heard it in "Can't Hardly Wait" or "The Office". It was 1982 when Upstairs At Eric's was released and at the same time dating a girl who I was crazy about. That song still brings tears to my eyes when I hear it since it reminds me of the days (and nights) I spent with her. Going dancing, phone calls long into the night and of course watching MV-3 almost every afternoon. Two years later while we were still together she had one of those early 80's "I want an older super rich boyfriend who'll spoil me" moments and broke up with me.

Second is What?-Soft Cell. This one purely dictates the pain and heartbreak I went through when she left. I tried so hard to get her back but she was set on finding Mr Rich. I still can't hear this one without feeling a deep sadness that's never left.

If you missed the 80's, I'm sorry. It was a great party!!
