Q? re Erasure's "Gaudete" Dave Audé download

Postby Fred Taghon » Thu Dec 26, 2013 8:21 am

I just (finally) ordered Erasure's "Gaudete" CD-Single from Amazon.co.uk

I really like the mixes included on it, but I'm still a bit disappointed that the best remix (Dave Audé Extended Club Mix) is not featured on the physical CD.

So it appears for now, that I will have to purchase an MP3 or iTunes file of the Dave Audé mix. I only buy these files when there is no other option (can't believe there are still so few sites offering lossless files!) so I at least want to try and get the best quality file I can.

With that in mind, can anyone confirm if this file, downloaded from Amazon or 7digital, is 320kps and is it "Joint Stereo" or "Stereo"? Some sites still use "Joint Stereo" because it reduces the file size by sharing common audio information between left and right channels, but it is sonically inferior to "Stereo" - not to sound too snobby, but I truly CAN tell the difference lol.

I know all iTunes files are Stereo, but so far their highest bitrate is 256kps. But I'd still prefer that over a 320kps MP3 that is Joint Stereo.

Thanks to anyone who can help!
