I nabbed the Joy Division EP and the Christian Death 7". The Dinosaur Jr. singles were sold out everywhere.

I am holding out for 8 Track Day.

I do love the idea that vinyl is still being sold. I have a ton of it in my attic that I never play.

I missed that one. I might have to call around and see if anyone has it (God save me from the ebay sharks). I ended up buying from 3 stores because the stores don't get the same records. I guess I'm lucky that there even ARE 3 stores in my area.

12" Ministry 'All Day'/'Everyday is Halloween'.

Funny thing is I didn't even know it was RSD until I walked into my local platter-shack and the place was jammed.

I know for the everyday music purchasers lovers-- RSD is a real drag, as you have to contend with too many people whom half are probably just want to sell the stuff on EBAY. I know because I worked the record store on RSD and there were many people buying 300- 500 dollars worth of records that I have never seen in the store before ever.
The owner is cool with it, although he is eager to sell off his inventory he draws a line on limits so that everyone can have a chance.
But when there is only 1 or 2 of items -- then it is hard-- The fastest selling record this year that we had plenty of was the Glow in the Dark Ray Parker JR Ghostbuster 10"--- who knew?

RSD is the equivalent of Black Friday for record stores. I made the mistake of showing up at 2pm. It was jammed with people, and the inventory had been picked clean. Wonder why the RS owners haven't figured out that having 2 or 3 RSDs per year would be even better.

In my opinion, the flip-on-ebay phenomenon is no different from scalping. To the scalpers, the records are just commodities that bring profit (might as well be old coins or vintage knick-knacks), not works of art to be listened to. From a customer perspective, it's annoying. Maybe there should be a rule: you can only buy on RSD from a store if you have purchased 10 records there in the last year, and actually listened to each of them!

Well they actually do have a mini RSD day on Black Friday they have tried that for at least 2-3 years, the black friday mini RSD pales in comparison to the one last week. They RS owners would love to have multiple busy days like that-- but if you had multiple RSD days it would of course defeat the purpose of "the day".

I hear what you're saying, but I'm not sure I agree. Too much competition for sales on Black Friday. Maybe they could try having 2 days, maybe one in April and one in September. The demand is there. Check this out:
