Without a doubt, musically, it would have to be "Urgh! A Music War." Hope it comes out on DVD some day.

I don't know if the movies exemplify new wave, but a couple of my favorite new wave soundtracks would have to be for "Party Party" and "Pretty In Pink". Or am I just getting off the topic a wee bit? [:)]

Valley Girl was the first film I thought of when I saw this thread as well: The Plimsouls, Psychedelic Furs, Modern English. The best teen movie ever IMO. [:D]

Then, of course, we have 24 Hour Party People. [8D]

These soundtracks were pretty good:

Something Wild
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Repo Man

Gotta hand it to Valley Girl, however-- that movie had enough good music to support 2 full-length soundtracks!

I don't quite understand your question, schwenko. What's "noncommercial" to you?

"Urgh" was released by a major label (CBS/Fox). If that doesn't qualify it as a commerci

Not strictly New Wave, but The Last American Virgin had some great songs on it, apart from REO Speedwagon & Journey.

"Valley Girl" had some great new wave quotes & moments in it. "It's the way we do things that makes them different", "technopop has not soul", The Plimsouls club scene.

Anybody remember "Times Square"? As far as I remember the movie sucked but the s
