Why are we still talking about New Wave 20 yrs lat

Postby WoodlandParkPunk » Tue Apr 27, 2004 1:15 am

Because it was and still is sooo good. The music was fun and happy. The fashions were bright and colorful. It was new and "catchy". Since the New Wave era we have been subjected to lousy fashion, depressing music and overall lack of individuality and style. Let's keep the "Wave" going and hopefully todays youth will come to their senses and the revival will continue.

Fashion was the LEAST of all reasons I was drawn to New Wave music. Let's face it, a lot of the New Wave artists dressed pretty silly, if not effeminate. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the so-called New Romantic bands but the poofy pants and make-u

First, the music was great. Second, it was what a lot of us grew up with. I think some of it has to do with nostalgia. You hear a certain song or band and your mind goes back to a certain period of time.

I just don't understand the hostility shown towards "Grunge" on this board. Grunge is just as much a sub set of Punk as new
