The Police vs. Sting Vote NOW

Postby Quite Life » Wed Oct 15, 2003 2:56 pm

This is a poll that was provoked by another subject on the board. what I am asking is that people vote the truth on this matter.

A. The Police were really cool and Sting sucks!
B. Sting was better than the police.

I am voting A

A, like fersure. But I'd like to say early Sting "sucked less" (I saw this on Microsoft teeshirts at a Macworld conference - "We Suck Less").

Definately A.

I propose an adendum to the poll:

C: The Police were better with Henry Padovani on guitar
D: Henry who?

Ah, the enigmatic Corsican, Padovani. I still think Andy was better, although Henri does crop up in relation to several punk references in those early year. I've heard several people say that any good punk fan must see Jubilee. I'm guessing Henri's reference was only in relation to a couple of Wayne County tracks that he collaborated on. Anyone here seen this movie, can give recommendations, or know if it's readily available?

I may switch to C, maybe

Love Henry's solo on Nothing Atcheving.

The police with Henry was more in line with bands like Chelsea, 999, The Ruts and a lot of late 70's stuff that is now re-issued by Captian Oi

The Police did not suck.
Sting sucks less than average, but sucks more than he did when he was with The Police.

I believe that his suckiness was reduced by two thirds when he was with The Police.

The Police were fantastic, Sting as a solo artist? No thanks. Too pretentious by far. And why must he insist on wipping his shirt off at every given opportunity and doing yoga on chat shows? Oaf.

Early Police (new, cool and exciting): RRRRRRoxanne !

Later Police (But still cool): "Bed's too big without Choooo .......

Later Police (Once Sting figures out he could make some serious Michael Jackson/Billy Joel/Springsteen money by writing nausiating schlock rock: "Every breath you take ...." (He should just be honest and sing "Every buck I rake .......")

Any questions ?
