I've never been there before. Staying in Yokohama; going to travel all over Tokyo, and also to Mt. Fuji. I'll also be doing lots and lots of CD/record shopping!!

Slightly off-topic (sorry), so I'll post these photos as links. While in Tokyo you MUST visit Harajuku and Shibuya--two very hip districts (they're right next to each other). The area is completely chaotic with wall-to-wall people, tons of trendy shops (including music stores), and very cool people. To get the best experience, you must go on a Sunday, when young people dress in outlandish outfits and gather just outside of Harajuku station.

The most fascinating thing about Japan is the contrast of old and new. A great way to experience that contrast is first to go to Meiji Shrine (just a short walk from Harajuku station). There you can enjoy the serenity of the shrine and park, and if you're really lucky and it's a Sunday, you just might catch a Shinto wedding procession with the entire wedding party wearing kimono. Then go check out the chaos of Harajuku and Shibuya. The contrast will blow you away! Have a great time!
Edit: I did not take these pictures. I got them off the web. I want to give credit to the photographer, H. Guillaume. He has tons more pictures at his website:
