Misheard lyrics

Postby Dave » Wed Nov 12, 2003 7:02 am

Wang Chung - Dance Hall Days
I always thought he was saying...

"We were cool... on... Christ"

Apparently I'm not the only one:

Anybody else have good new wave examples?

BTW Not new wave, but the funniest skit I ever saw had to do with misheard lyrics (Blinded by the Light)

Yeah that Wang Chung one always had me baffled. It really does sound like "We were cool... on... Christ"

Ditto, and what a relief that we don't have to be cool on Christ to like dance halls. Now excuse me while I kiss this guy...

Too funny myirwin

According to the Am I Right site, somebody at a record shop actually asked for a copy of "Free Nelson the Panda".

Coincidently, it says Blinded by the Light is the most misquoted song of all time (e.g., Blinded by the light, remmed

Re-Flex - The Politics of Dancing

Had a friend who swore they were singing "Her father takes her dancing".

Not misheard, but whenever I have the misfortune of hearing The Beatles I always sing to myself "The girl with colitis goes by" instead of "the girl with kalidoscope eyes"

Anybody remember this classic from the Eurythmics:

'Sweet dreams are made of cheese'

Who am I to disagree.
