U.S. Fans of Bill Nelson Launch Drive for Fan Convention

American fans of critically-acclaimed British guitarist Bill Nelson have
launched an online survey to find out if Nelson’s diehard fans want him to
come to the U.S. for a fan convention. The survey is designed to determine
if there is sufficient fan support to make such an event financially
feasible.

Nelson’s last appearances in the U.S. were over ten years ago in support of
his album titled “After the Satellite Sings,” and his U.S. fan base has
apparently waited long enough, and are taking matters into their own hands.

According to Peter Coulombe, one of the U.S. fans responsible for the
survey, Nelson is behind the effort. Coulombe says he broached the idea to
Nelson at last fall’s “Nelsonica 2005” fan convention in Britain.

“He told me ‘Build a convention and I will come,’ which I took as a
good-natured challenge,” says Coulombe, who has teamed with other fans to
push the plan for a convention. “Because Bill does not have record company
support, the costs of any convention will have to be covered through advance
ticket sales, so we need to have a pretty good idea how many people would
come before we move ahead. That’s the purpose behind the survey – we need
Bill’s fans to stand up and be counted or it simply isn’t going to happen.”

The survey can be found online at http://www.vmrsite.com/nelson_survey/

Erm, just noticed that the bloody link doesn't work. I'll see what's up with that. Not enough demand for the survey?[:0]

I filled out the survey. It would be worth a weekend in NYC.
