Memorable concerts

Postby Jay242 » Fri May 16, 2003 7:02 am

I've seen so many concerts over the years, it's hard to pick just one that I truly enjoyed, but here are a few highlights:

1. Lollapalooza 1--Seeing NIN, Nirvana, Siouxie and the Banshees, and Jane's Addiction all in their prime was an amazing experience.

2. The Cure Wish tour--Front row seats, I met Robert Smith after the show.

3. New Order with the Pixies--Like being in heaven

4. Soft Cell reunion a few months ago--Marc Almond is UBERCOOL!!! Both members hung out with the crowd after the show.

What are some of your memorable concert experiences? What made them memorable?

I also was on many concerts in the 80s, the first was Kraftwerk at the Musikhalle in Hamburg in June 1981, complete with robots, projections and all in a very plushy 19th century concert hall. Two years later i saw Depeche Mode there, great. My second con

The Kabuki Theatre in San Francisco, in Japan Town, hosted some Great 80's concerts. I saw some beautiful shows there that will forever linger on in my 80's consciousness. A few were:

Laurie Anderson - Big Science tour. This was the cool one where s

Depeche Mode toured with Book of Love in 1986 on the Black Celebration tour.

I had 4th row seats and backstage passes for that one in Vancouver - it was amazing.

I first saw DM in London in a club around 1981. It was an all ages show and my cousin

Number one has to be Echo & the Bunnymen at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, in--let me see--must have been 1988. I'd never been terribly attracted to Ian McCullough, but if I had been wearing a bra, I would have thrown it on stage.
