This Island Earth-Take Me to the Fire

Postby bpdp3 » Fri Dec 19, 2003 1:56 am

I have a 12" single by a band called This Island Earth, the song is "Take me to the Fire". The date on it is 1984; synth-pop type music. My copy looks to be Canadian, though I don't know if the band is Canadian. 2 band members.

I like the song, and wonder if anyone knows if they ever put out a full-length LP. Or has anyone even HEARD of these guys?

This Island Earth were from Liverpool. They released 2 12" singles that I'm aware of:
1.See that glow
2.Take me to the fire

Too bad they never made an album!

I love that song! Very 80s, should've been a huge hit too. Too bad it wasn't, but oh well. Should've released a full album too. I have a copy of their single too, with Pearl Of Love as the B-side, which is a great song as well. The band members were (acco

I know what one of the band members is doing now as Kevin is my piano teacher. He still writes a lot of music but unfortunately never made it big.

He told me that they never made an album as they did not get full backing from their record company henc

They did make an album as I have a tape of it. It wasn’t released by the record company though. I saw then live a couple of times and they were excellent with loads of cool sci fi samples bridging the tracks. I also have some really nice 50s influenced pr

The B sides to both of their 12"s are pretty good as well.
