Yazoo 'In Your Room' Box Set Pricing

Postby Alex Hush » Sat Apr 26, 2008 11:59 pm

It is my understanding there will be a US release.

<br>It is true--minus VAT it's 40 euro. The price you quote includes VAT.

Anyway, I recommend buying from Mute or waiting to see how amazon.co.uk prices it. I'm not buying it until I see reviews, and even then I'm not sure given the cost.

If it is a US release I would check deepdiscount.com.
No shipping charges ever.

well ... u can't buy it for 40 euro , as u have to pay , what u call vat ( mehrwertsteuer in german ) for it too !
i don't know , if & how u could buy that item or any other one ( legally from a german seller ) without paying vat for it !?
in other words : if i want to buy it from amazon.de i have to pay 47 euro for it !

If you live in Germany or Europe or whatever you pay VAT. If you live in USA you don't.

ouch. Thanks to Blake and Patrick for defending our honor. Not sure why Alex didn't chime in on our behalf - is Canada the new Switzerland? :) Some people get what we're doing and some people drive 10 miles to pay 4 cents less per gallon on gas.

Like Alex mentioned, we, too, were under the impression that Rhino was going to issue the Box Set in the U.S so we held out as long as we could listing the Yazoo Box Set. If Rhino is eventually going to release it, they are dropping the ball again by releasing it a significant time after the import release. Anyone who has pre-ordered with us - we've held the credit card orders and won't charge until right before the import release date in case there is a last minute announcement. But at this rate, a US release couldn't even come out until late June or beyond.

Yes, we pay import taxes. We are not direct with Mute, nor could we be with this release since Rhino/Warner/Sire has the rights to release it in the U.S. If Mute sells directly to us, they piss off the American labels.

So, how do we get this item? Just like any other import. Mute sells it to a one-stop distributer in Europe who sells it to a one-stop distributer in the U.S. who sells it to us. Each distributer marks up the item a reasonable amount as do we. And not sure if anyone has noticed... but... the dollar is not worth all that much right now. The U.S. Dollar would be stronger if the country's citizens did not buy stuff directly from other countries.

(start commercial)Buy American! Buy Ideal Copy!(end commercial)

I'm kidding around, but there is something to that and not just with our business. Plus, if you buy from us and there's a problem, it's a whole lot easier returning an item to us than shipping it back to Europe and communicating with someone who may or may not understand English.

We price checked some competition and came up with what we hope is the lowest price. As always, if anyone out there sees this item or any item for less, let us know and we'll see if we can adjust our pricing to be more competitive. And this is actually unrelated to this thread, but i talked our supplier into a better price last week, so we're actually lowering our sell price to $94.99, so customers have the chance to get the Import Yazoo Box Set delivered for under $100. Anyone who has pre-ordered already will be charged the lower price.

cheers!

Now up at amazon.co.uk for 33.71 pounds (excluding VAT), including shipping. So you can save $30 off Ideal Copy and you don't have to deal with nasty non-English speakers!

Good news! our import supplier has a line on a new source for the Yazoo Box Set (they were probably getting it direct from the UK before, but other countries always have lower wholesale prices). Our sell price is now a very reasonable $64.99.

Amazon.com is down to $71.99 including shipping. So just $2.00 more than IC. It's still cheaper than IC to order from co.uk, but now by about $2.00.

Idealcopy is by far my favorite place to buy from online. I always felt that I got a great deal + have found a lost gem from time to time. Chris is fantastic and is always an email away when I have had a question.

Thank You Idealcopy, you guy`s are awesome.

So can anyone confirm if there will be a US release and if so when? If they are touring in the US, I would guess they would want to release that here too. Also, the band would have be called Yaz instead of Yazoo or does that even matter anymore?!?

Now $58.49 at amazon.com, plus free shipping. Again, Idealcopy is almost never the cheapest.
