Duran Duran - Seven and the ragged tiger 2CD + DVD

Postby Finnatic » Sun Feb 14, 2010 1:26 pm

'As The Lights Down' is the crowning gem of this special edition version of Seven and the Ragged Tiger. For anyone who remembers the original airing on MTV or getting their HBO/Cinemax insert back in 1984 advertising Duran Duran - The Video Concert, this will undoubtedly be a cherished memento. Having this film available in its video concert form sans storyline will be a huge enjoyment for many Seven and The Ragged Tiger tour fans. The opening sequence alone still gets my blood pumping after all these years.

Just a note, at one time, the master tape for ATLGD could not be located. Whoever did the digging to find this footage, your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Perhaps with ATLGD finally available in digital form, Russell Mulcahy's Arena concept film can be more fully appreciated.

Please sit down on release day, dim the lights, and watch ATLGD. It represents the pinnacle of the music video concert art form.

I hope they did a better performance than on Arena, because Arena sounds like shit. It was the first live album I bought, and it turned me off live albums for a long time.

I heard that EMI was not doing too well (they're selling Abbey Road Studio), but I didn't think they were THAT bad. [:D]

Arena is probably only 50 percent live anyway. Most bands go in and re-record things or fake live recordings with crowd noise.

Arena is so bad that I think it's all live (except the Wild Boys, of course), because no one would be satisifed with that crap if it were studio! The vocals are terrible.

Amazon UK sent me an email saying they now have DD's debut for pre-order for 72 pounds! WTF?! Unless they drop the price considerably, I'll be skipping this.

I'm sure it's an error. Probably meant to be 17.99 or something like that.

I never preorder anything, i wait to buy it cheaper from sellers at the Amazon marketplace. You won't get it the minute things come out, but you certainly get it cheaper. Right now the Spandau Ballet Remasters are $49.98.. that is crazy!

Ideal Copy has a decent price IMO and Amazon US fixed theirs so it pretty much mirrors Ideal Copy's. Amazon UK's price was still insane when I checked yesterday.
