PWL and Black don't fit into Nu Wave and shouldn't be considered to be mentioned.

I just find it amazing that we are getting Rick Astley reissues YET, there is alot of good stuff that is just waiting to be reissued such as CHINA CRISIS, PUBLIC IMAGE LTD, PSYCHEDELIC FURS (Mirror Moves & beyond), NAKED EYES, COMSAT ANGELS (yes, there stuff is out of print again), THE SOUND (out of print again) and etc, etc, etc.

Those are just some of the best known artists.

No offence to Rick Astley fans, but I have always found this and music like it the reason why I looked to the underground and beyond to find good qaulity music.

<br>Going purely by the some of the "artists" mentioned recently in this section, I think it's safe to say I officially hate new wave.

Rick Astley
Mel & Kim
Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Swing Out Sister
Gloria Gaynor
Gladys Knight
Donna Summer
THE COLOUR FIELD
Pet Shop Boys

Why are the Pet Shop Boys and The Colourfield lumped in with these acts? They're not manufactured, are led by witty clever songwriters and actually represent the more pop side of the spectrum. The Colourfield's Terry Hall was a core component of the New Wave scene due to his work in The Specials & Fun Boy Three and the Pet Shop Boys brought New Wave to the dance floors and are considered pioneers in intelligent dance music, still selling buckets of records and showing no signs of decline.

I wonder if Rick Astley, Terry Hall and Robbie Nevil got into a wrestling match who would kick who's ass?

To answer the question above why I mentioned Black, who is not NU Wave at all, is because this is a thread started about Prick Astley reissues (didn't know this was Nu Wave, I'll check the pop bible what Nu Wave is), and hey why not start a thread on reissues by Black, Sonia, and Robbie Nevil, and Big Fun - First ones that sprung to mind.

Why, cos it ain't f**king Nu wave.........and this is a forum bout NU wave, and not shitty late 80's crap........sorry no offence to Black fan's or Astley fans (are there any??), but this is bout Nu Wave and should stay that way..............Sorry......look forward to another reply bout Black.....I can keep this up for along time.

I agree with vast majority of what you are saying but what i don't agree with is why you are bringing Black into this debate when for starters no he wasn't New Wave i think we all know that and mentioning him in the same breath as some of the garbage that has been mentioned in this thread is not on. I hated that mid to late 80's crap as well with all that PWL pap but Black's Wonderful Life album was nothing like that. Would people please stopping slagging Terry Hall as well because i thought he was the dogs bollocks during the 80s.

Why are you here spamming this site when there are so many forum/blogs dedicated to general 80's pop and dance? I mean I would never go to a forum dedicated to Death Metal and post about the next Def Leppard re-issue (unless I wanted to piss people off).

I think most here agree that it's nice to have this little slice of the internet where we can get away from the crap your peddling.
