Retro Active 7 - Rare & Remixed

Postby cork » Sun Mar 14, 2010 2:51 am

Something by Ice House would be good. eg. Electric Blue

Or a ballad like "Gaurdian Angel" by Nino De Angelo or Tight Fits "Secret Heart".

Any updates on the next Retro:Active CD, Alex?

Fiction Factory's "No Time" (Extended Mix) has never been issued on CD and is very difficult to find anywhere. I would love to see this on the next Retro:Active volume in addition to:

Belouis Some, "Animal Magic" (Dance Vocal)
Secession, "Touch" (Extended Version)
Floy Joy, "Weak In The Presence Of Beauty" (Extended Version)
Blue Zoo, "Somewhere In The World There's A Cowboy Smiling" (Extended Version)
Xymox, "Imagination" (Club Mix)

When can we anticipate the next Retro:Active release?

Not sure on release dates yet - still a bit more work needs to be done. Some tracks are cleared but no official track list is decided.

It's ironic that news of a new Retro:Active release is amongst all the discussions here about brickwalled remasters [;)].

I absolutely echo that.

The Retro Active series has always delivered in the past.

The tracklisting for Retro Active 7 is full of anticipation.

Alex - Well done.

A few other titles that would be great to have on here:

Such A Shame (US Mix) - Talk Talk
It's My Life (US Mix) - Talk Talk
Lost Souls (Spirited Mix) - Book Of Love (since they left it off the reissue)

Alex,

You're killing us!!! The anticipation is running on high!!! The Retro Active series is the best 80's compilations around and I hope it will continue. The labels have to know that there is a HUGE audience for extended/remixed tracks by New Wave artists. You have always done right by doing everything fantastically: quality re-masters and awesome liner notes too. I really pray that Volume 7 is not the last. And also that we don't have to wait as long as we have for others to appear.

Most grateful,

Jeffrey

P.S. "Lost Souls (Spirited Mix)" - Book of Love <since it was left off the remasters.

And of course, "Animal Magic" by Belouis Some. That would be incredible.

Thanks Jeffrey - I appreciate your kind words. We have some great liner notes for RA7 which I think a lot of people will appreciate.
Can't reveal the tracklist yet but (fingers crossed) it should not be too much longer. Quite a few rarities on this one.

Not sure if I can have any more Book of Love tracks - the people at Ideal Copy might kill me ;)

Nice name!![:D] I agree w/EVERYTHING you've said here. I've been wishing for 12" extendeds/remixes for some time, from a number of NW artists. Lets hope they realize that we're looking for stuff like this, and stop releasing crapola?
