Girlfriend Trauma

Postby Jimbo » Sun Mar 06, 2005 3:21 pm

My GF today just had her neighbor blow his head off all over her car and the side of her house with a shotgun.
She went outside to see what the noise was and then went a little hysterical when she saw her neighbor (minus most of his head) and her car and the side of her house covered with gore. [xx(]
Anyways, she does not want to go back to her house anytime soon, but in situations like that, what do you say?

Damn!!! [:0] I would be screaming and shaking for hours!! That is so frightening! Just a sight of an idle shotgun would get me nervous as heck! Your gf must be really in shock right now! Isn't there any safe place anymore?

Sorry to hear the news Jimbo. I would just try and comfort her. I think she might be in shock. I hope that she can stay with someone else for awhile and that she doesn't drive her car or go back home until she is ready. It really is hard to come up with s

I kinda don't know what to do, right now she really does not want to talk about it.
I'll see how she is today.

I'll keep you all updated.

Jim, that's practically too horrific for words. I hope both you and your girlfriend are coping as well as possible under those circumstances. I know you'll do your best to support and comfort her. It's hard to fathom how people can reach such dark, hopele

Jimbo,
It sounds like your gf is in a bit of shock right now. Maybe being in a place where she can be out of the situation for a while(like your house, a friend's, etc)would help. Then, when she is ready, she can go back with you or a friend to her hom

Thanks for the advice everybody.
She is seeming to make a rather good and speedy recovery so far. I want to be as nurturing and supportive as possible, but I also don't want her to dwell excessively on this either (because she thinks I am) and possibly m

I am glad things are going better and she feels okay with being in the house again. It was good advice that you gave her to go back soon after it was cleaned up. If she had waited a long time, she might have just not wanted to go back at all. Hopefully
