Music video with music act on telephone

Postby eLeMeNOhPeaQ » Sat Jul 20, 2013 3:54 pm

I've been using screen captures of 80s music videos, which have the music artist on the telephone, for my Facebook cover pic the last few weeks. My profile pic is of me on an old payphone...making it look like I am having a telephone conversation with the person in the music video.

So far, I've used screen caps from:
Hello - Lionel Richie
Girls Just Want To Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper
You Have Placed A Chill In My Heart - Eurythmics
Into The Groove - Madonna (current as of July 21st)

Pending:
Rio - Duran Duran

I need help remembering more 80s music videos that feature the artist/a band member on the telephone. Please name the song title and artist below, if you can think of any, or if you happen to be watching an 80s music video and see them on the telephone. I am only looking for 80s music videos at this time, but may extend it into the 90s, depending on how many music videos I can use a quality screen cap from. The only other prerequisite is, it has to be a telephone from the era, preferably ones with the curly phone cords. I'd like to keep doing this for my cover pic the rest of the year, as I will be changing it every week. Thanks for your help!

One that I can think of immediately is 'I Beg Your Pardon' by Kon Kan.

I sent you a few by PM

Not sure if this one fits your criteria, it's not a music video. Also not sure of the time frame / image date, but it looks like an 80's style corded phone.

Maybe it will work for your project as a (screen shot / still photo).

Tommy Tutone's - 867-5309 / Jenny was one that came to mind but there does not seem to be any part of the video that shows anyone actually on a phone however there is this Black and White photo. http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/252/31628.jpg from the time frame.

Those are some good ones.

This one isn't.
New Edition - Mr. Telephone Man

But maybe he can use it for what he is trying to create.

Billy Joel - Sometimes A Fantasy. He spends the entire video on the phone.

Awesome! Thanks to everyone that has replied with ideas. There are a couple I had in mind, but forgot to post (New Edition's Mr. Telephone Man and Falco's Vienna Calling). I don't care how cheesy/cheeky the videos/songs are...just as long as it shows a pop star on the phone. Actually, it's funnier when it is a cheesy song (as with Lionel Richie's Hello).

I will be spending some time on You Tube going through the mentioned vids. Keep those ideas coming, and thanks again. [:D]
