I got my ticket for LA as well. They are my all-time favorite band, so of course I have to be there!

question: how does the current lineup compare with the lineup during their "peak" period, i.e. 1979-1985ish? the personnel in the band? I know they have had a lot of changes over the years

My main concert about seeing them live after cca 1987 was always if they would mess up the original arrangements of the songs, like they`ve done with Promised You A Miracle back then and many others.

Just wondered if they still do them like that nowadays, or have they switched back to they way it should always have been done.

Simple Minds have been on a "back to the roots" path for the last few years as they have come to see their classic pre-1985 period as the real goods. Their 5x5 tour cemented this. So I would expect that arrangements will stick to the classic sounds that you are familiar with on records.

And for those of us too slow off the starter's pistol, something horrid's happening in the second-hand ticket game. Per StubHub (with similar results through other channels), here are the "tickets starting from" figures for the remaining shows:

Jersey - $60
Washington - $120
Boston - $38
Montreal - $85
Toronto - $244
NYC - $54

Seems demand slaughtered supply in Toronto. Shame. But I can't fork out that kinda dough, This Fear Of Gods or no This Fear Of Gods.

Hope the boys are on form. Hope everyone enjoys the shows. Hope they come back in '14 to do 'er up right.

All I can say is that Jim and the lads were in top form yesterday evening. It was one of the best concert experiences that I have had in recent times. Jim really engaged the audience and even at the end of the show, they hung around the front of the stage and met many of the fans up close and personal. Great set list (minus a few goodies Speed Your Love to Me for example). I would definitely recommend seeing them and here is to a great and fruitful comeback!
