i have an old cassette from the early '80's, and there is a brief snippet, and it goes like this:

(it's a fast beat, lots of saxaphone, boy and girl singers with thick cockney accents)
"
no! oh no!!!
OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH

...in a swiss bank account with bogus name
what a way to deal with.... FAME!"

well that's all i got- any clues?

It actually might be Romeo Void, something off their first 4 track EP

Thanks, Justin/DevoManiac

and the mystery is solved, 12 years later.

i was at generation records in the village today, flipping through records, and i see the familiar cover of "deaf school: english boys/working girls": sexy blond new wave lady in skin tight red dress with cut outs on thighs- a classic new wave record cover, but i'd never ever listened to it. so i slipped the sleeve out, and was looking at the credits, and lo and behold, at the bottom of the lyrics page are the lyrics i quoted all those years ago, and bingo. the song is "o.blow" and it is the final song on side 2. and i had the cockney right too, they are liverpudlian. and now i'm going to clean up the vinyl and i'm spinning it tomorrow night at my dj gig!

this isn't the song, but this is a big song for them from the album:

WHEEE!

FYI, a remastered and expanded edition of the album was released last year.

Guitarist Clive Langer went on to produce (mostly with Alan Winstanley) some of the biggest new Wave acts of the 80's.
