Hello all,

I'm looking to deepen some of my knowledge of the above artists. Let me know if you have any never-a-single/never on the radio favorites.

Thanks!

For R.E.M., just give the Murmur album and Chronic Town EP a listen. If you like early R.E.M., then keep going in chronological order until you've had enough.

For Duran Duran, give "The Chauffeur"(1982)a listen and if you like the vibe, try "The Man Who Stole a Leopard"(2010).

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Murmur and Chronic Town I love, which is the main reason my blind sport for REM is between the former and Green (which, although not amazing, I still have a nostalgic attachment to because it was the soundtrack to my playing Pools of Radiance on the computer at age 12). Murmur and Chronic Town are so good that it was hard for me to to give the albums thereafter a fair chance.

Chauffeur was great. I stumbled across a B-side, Khanada, I like a lot.

Photographic is very cool. The Some Bizarre compilation version is worth seeking out. Ice Machine, which I got on a 7" at 18, is one of my favorite Depeche songs ever.

I guess I don't need to limit my question to the four bands above. Feel free to let me know any favorite album tracks from any of the canonical bands.

A friend and I are working on a lengthy mix modeled on the annual countdowns on our childhood radio stations. Our "countdown" is made up of artists that were on the radio at the time, but not their well-known tracks.

This is the rough tracklist I'm working with so far:

For Psych Furs try "Susan's Strange" and "Sister Europe"- I like the dark atmospheric sound on those.

For Gos Go's- "Beneath The Blue Sky", "Capture The Light" and "Automatic Rainy Day".

Roxy Music's live version (of which there are many) of "Like A Hurricane" is an absolute must have!

Ramones- "We Want The Airwaves "& "I Wanna Live".

For Duran Duran, the frankly excellent 'To The Shore' from the original self-titled album.

"And diamond stars shining glitter bright
Gorging your sanhedralites"

Doesn't get much better than that

Alphaville -

Gotta go with Universal Daddy. Don't think that was a single. Excellent Chinese guitar effect throughout.

Camouflage -

Winner Takes Nothing
Handsome (the only good track on the very acoustic 'Meanwhile')

Icehouse -

Spanish Gold, Paradise. Two total gems. Also, Not My Kind from the first album.

Flock of Seagulls -

REMEMBER DAVID!!!
