Slow Children vinyl -- lyrics?

Postby rsgonzalez » Fri Jan 15, 2010 12:02 am

Just wondering -- are lyrics included in the sleeves of the two Slow Children albums? I've never picked them up because I don't have a turntable, but I've decided I would buy them if they came with the lyrics. Thanks ...

The self-titled LP definitely had lyrics. I'm pretty sure Mad about Town did too. I can look it up when I get home tonight.

The Mad About Town vinyl definitely had the lyrics and they awesome lyrics. What a great true New Wave band that featured Stephen Hague and Jules Shear. I totally love Pal and Andrew's voices on the songs. This and the first album are on my wish list of my most wanted items for reissues. If they do it, they have to include all of their 12" versions. Who owns the rights to all their songs anyways?

I also really dig the European album cover for their first album with Pal staring into her hand.

Sign me up for any Slow Children reissue, with or without the remixes. [:)]

Schwenko told me that Pal played again at the Living Room in NYC last Wednesday night. I was in town but had too much to do to catch it. Very bummed. Still have fond memories of her gig two years ago when she inscribed one of her new CDs for me. It's a reference to my mention that I'd seen her 25 years ago. Sweet lady...

And yes, would love a reissue but Pal gave the distinct impression she'd moved on and that this was part of a life left behind long ago.

I already have their songs in MP3 format. What I want is the lyrics.

I appreciate the offer, but I just drove to my local vinyl store (5 minutes from my place), popped in, and grabbed them for $3 each! I can't believe they were that cheap. I should have done that years ago.

That's really cool Blir. Does the cd sound like Slow Children? I see Stephen Hague and Jules Shear in there.

It's less frenetic, bit more arty, less hooky. There's certainly some Slow Children in there, but there's actually more Patti Smith to it than anything else (I think they're friends).

Just freshening up this thread with mention that Slow Children did put a new album out in 2016 ("cottoncloud9"), and are beginning to release tracks from another forthcoming new album.
