Req: Visage - Beat Boy (Special Cassette Remix)

Hi Odin, I had to swap out the old hard drive and put a new one in, so my computer
isn't quite all back to working, but I should be able to get the Visage tracks you REQ'd
up within maybe a day or so, since I see no-one else has yet posted them. Hang in there.

was outside Visage, more of a Steve Strange "solo project" might be worth a listen for Visage
fans, I believe it's been recently re-released, so ought to be in print, currently & easy to find.

Cherry Red re-released Strange Cruise along with a couple of bonus tracks on CD recently. Its not as good as Visage, in my opinion, and is definitely more rock oriented. Its still worth a listen though. I also heard Visage is coming out with a new album in November.

Yes Odin, Cherry Red. Like others I don't care much for some of their releases. I probably
have the same grunts and grumbles as others do, but still was good to hear the Strange Cruise LP,
even if not as welcomed as Visage tracks.

I have to wonder how much (if any) will feature S. Strange, since he's now passed away.

According to stevestrange.org: The fifth and final studio album from 80s New Romantic pioneers Visage will be released in November 2015. It will be entitled “Demons To Diamonds” a name chosen by the family of the late Steve Strange. It will feature the studio songs that Steve Strange was working on with Visage prior to his untimely death which shocked the world in February 2015. The album is launched to coincide with the inaugural “Steve Strange” New Romantic music festival in Porthcawl, Wales. All royalties from the album to be donated to the newly formed Steve Strange Statue fund which will establish a permanent and lasting memorial to Steve Strange and his music, style and fashion legacies.
Steve Strange and Visage began working on their follow up album to 2013 “Hearts and Knives” album in spring 2014. With over 15 songs written and scheduled the band had recorded just over half when Steve sadly died on Febrary 12th 2015. After the shock of losing their leader the band, rather than leave the album uncompleted decided to persevere and complete the album. The album features musical contributions from Mick MacNeil (Simple Minds) and Didier “SpAce” Marouani (“Magic Fly”). The album also features a cover version of the David Bowie song “Loving The Alien”. A limited edition vinyl-only single containing a extended remix of “Lost in Static” from the fourth album and a brand new track is also available now from Control Room Recordings.

So the machine remix (WOW! what was that ?) What does this sound like and do you have this (Or was it someone else)? Sorry I'm jum ping around all over the place. Amazing how there was so much stuff out there and one could not grasp all the goodies. Then again there has been stuff that just came and went......C-Ya!!! Do you have all the remixes for Gary Numan like the berserker, Radio Heart, & special mixes for Down in the Park or Are Friend's Electric? mixes? Picked up the remix Cd The Mix (Ehh, it was ok!!).

Lots of re-issues seem to be like that. There are always some "choice bits" that they tend
to just leave off.
Oh, I just posted the Beat Boy Machine mix promo single, in the last upload. You might want to check that one out,
and give a listen for yourself.

"The Mix" was ok, I'm with you there, just kind of "eh" same with the Techno Army release, pretty
much the same. Oh, and yes, I have just about any GN thing available, been collecting a long time.
If there's something you're after, make a new post, and if I can I'll upload it.

Only thing i'm aware of needing is 'Radio' version of 'Radio Heart'. Wasn't it called 'Radio radio'? Would be nice in good quality (all mixes), 3 in total i seem to remember?

Hey Neil,

I posted a REQ some time ago for that supposed 3 track single. Radio Radio. There are 2 versions
that can easily be found online, one is the extended, the other is one of the other 2 "versions"
either the Radio Mix, or the Heart Mix. Seems at least one of them is mislabeled, and I have no idea
which version is which.

Yes, I agree, it would be nice to finally have all 3 versions, but for now looks like we've only got 2,
and it's still unclear whether the shorter one is Radio Mix or Heart Mix, we'd need all 3 to determine.
Might be time to start a new topic, and make all 3 tracks a REQ

I've read that the CD info mistakenly lists the times for the radio & heart mixes as being the
same, when supposedly they are not, but without both versions, can only guess if the one you
uploaded is the radio or the heart mix. As a guess I would say this is the radio mix, which,
if so, would mean there's still the heart mix left to find. That's only a guess, tho.

Sooner or later someone with the actual 3-track single will rip it and share it, with
each version labeled correctly, 'til then it's still a mystery.

I'm fairly certain that the "Radio Mix" is actually just the standard 7" inch version. The version of this mix I have is exactly the same as the 7" version. The "Extended Version" is just that, an extended version of the original mix. So I think maybe the version I posted above could be the "Heart Mix". There is also an "Instrumental Version" which is slightly longer than the original 7" and is also a slightly different mix! I believe this version was only available on two versions of the picture disc released in the UK. I can post this version if anyone fancies it?

I think at least some of the confusion surrounding this particular Numan piece is that a lot of folks
confuse the (band) Radio Heart single(s) for the NRG Inc. ft. Gary Numan Radio CD Single.

Yes, as far as the band Radio Heart there was a 7 inch vinyl single, as well as a few 12 inch singles.
One of the singles had an instrumental version, and one was a "promo" etc.

Apart from all the Radio Heart releases there came a CD single, either not officially released, or
was sold as a CD-R through mail order (info differs regarding that) and was a 3 track more-or-less
remix/remake of the SONG Radio Heart, release by (band name) NRG Inc. ft. Gary Numan, just titled "Radio".

About the only real main differences between Radio Heart's "Radio Heart" and NRG Inc's "Radio" was
in the latter of the chorus instead of singing radio heart it's changed to radio, radio, and towards the
end of the song there's what sounds like a DJ talking over the music.

What you posted was one version of NRG Inc's Radio, either the Radio or the Heart mix, but either way
not one of the Radio Heart releases. Good to have, tho, at any rate.
