Black Colored CD's

Postby Sean » Mon Apr 23, 2018 8:01 pm

Does anyone here know for sure whether or not black colored CD's are automatically CD-R's or could they be replicated CD's? I see a few releases, especially the ones that they try to make the disc look like a vinyl record, with the black color. I called a few companies that make discs and they couldn't give me clear cut answer. My guess is they are CD-R's but would like to verify.
I am a camera!!!

BT ‎– These Hopeful Machines was pressed on black CDs: https://www.discogs.com/release/2121225

Wasn't there Sony PlayStation games that were black? I had assumed it was to help detect counterfeit games.
