Belgian New Beat 30 years on

Wondering if anyone else is interested in New Beat from 1988 and 1999 ? Some of the music that emerged from this scene, largely clubs in a few Belgian cities such as Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels, still sounds great .

Good to see someone else who likes New Beat :D ,
Was playing some earlier today to a friend of mine . Trying to explain that here in Britain it was strange to have a Belgian based music getting such attention 1988 and 1989, also New Beat didn't seem to last that long. It was one of the times when music was moving so fast.
Front 242 seemed to get automatically associated with New Beat as they started to noticed in Britain around the same time, but the group had actually been active since 1982.

Was also listening to Front 242 'Masterhit' from 1988 quite recently.

I'm interested in New Beat, specifically around 1988 and 1989. It sounds closer to EBM in that time for me. I like stuff that's closer to A Split-Second, The Maxx, Nux Nemo, Signal AOut42, The Force Dimension, etc. I have a few compilations, a fan-made series, and some early New Beat albums and CDs. I have most of an 8 volume fan-made compilation series called "Full (NEW BEAT) Select." I'm missing volume4 unfortunately.

This is "Your Highness" by The Maxx.

And thanks also from me Zara - look forward to exploring these collections.

Particularly good to be reminded of Public Relation's 'Eighty Eight' , one of my favourite tracks from that era.

Notice that you haven't included The Erotic Dissidents !
