Fashion "Fabrique" Reissue

Fashion "Fabrique" Reissue

Postby omar » Wed Dec 28, 2016 2:55 pm

This is still in the early stages according to the Fashion-Fabrique Facebook page. Singer Dave (Dee) Harris is running it and putting together a new cd remaster/reissue of the 1982 album. I've gotten some more info which hopefully will occur. Fabrique will be a single cd reissue containing with as many bonus dub mixes as they can locate as well as Love Shadow (7") which has never been on cd. According to Dave some of these masters are hard to find or simply lost. Wondering what about the standard 12" mixes?. Details will be announced in the next few months on which label etc. Also being reissued is the Zee " Identity " album from 1984 (collaboration between Dave and Richard Wright of Pink Floyd). It would be nice if as many of you could visit Facebook and show Dave support. I know a lot of people on this message board like Fashion and have wished for a reissue.

I am so ready for this. "Fabrique" represented a technological acme to me as producer Zeus. B. Held fearlessly mixed the capabilities of peak analog tech with the emerging digital gear of the day. It sounds sooooo warm and sensual while having machine-like qualities. It's a unique place and time summed up on that album.

There is already the THE HEIGHT OF FASHION CD, but really a 2-CD is needed to fit all the chronologically relevant material.

ZEE Facebook page has no update on this yet. Wasn't this going to be a combination release in one package?

They were supposed to be separate reissues. There's far too many delays. At this point i've given up hope.

Several different bundles available for Zee. Fashion’s Fabrique is also almost ready according to Dave and should be available for preorder soon.

The signed ones are way overpriced me thinks. I'm going for the vanilla ones.

Furthermore, I guess the Fashion - Fabrique release (3CD) will arrive in springtime.

Dave has also said that the new Fashion Deluxe will blow everyone away sound wise. I also just went for the standard Zee cd which is $15.50. Here's the tracklist:

Confusion
Voices
Private Person
Strange Rhythm
Cuts Like A Diamond
By Touching
How Do You Do It
Seems We Were Dreaming

bonus tracks

Confusion 7" edit
Eyes of a Gypsy 7"
Confusion 12" re-mix
Eyes of a Gypsy 12"re-mix

The 7" mix of Let's Play Dirty is missing (WHY?) but otherwise this looks thorough.
