Thanks to all for the feedback! I'm in the process of uploading the folder with all 30 volumes in uncompressed WAV format however the size will be 21GB. If I compress the folder to RAR format then the size will be 12GB. Should I post both formats and let people decide?

Hello All,

Finally! I'm happy to inform you the links are now LIVE and will remain so for exactly 2 weeks then removed. As Dave mentioned, I hope you all enjoy these as much as we did putting them together! Great times, Great memories, Great decade!!!

“Music, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of spirit, and never dies.”

I've decided to add both download options (WAV or RAR) and let you decide what works best. I've also included the Artwork link to keep them all together.

Can I offer a bit of advice which i'm not sure will work but will cost you nothing to try. These are obviously huge files and mega has some download limitations. Register yourselves a free account on mega and then import the big files into that. Whether the next stage works or not i don't know as it's not something i have downloaded or will be downloading. Hopefully for you it does. If you can open the rar files in your newly created account you might be able to download then in a more convenient manner. Then i'd suggest organising yourselves to upload a certain number of files to an easier or longer use host (sadly some of you would end up doing a lot of uploading as there would be certain members who'll happily download but never upload)
Fuck's sake mate how do you manage all those usernames on guitars101 and greasy lake?

Thanks so much for doing this.

Unfortunately most of the songs are slightly chopped of at the head. Can that be fixed?

I'm sorry to hear this! Can anyone confirm if this has happened to them as well? Did you download the WAV or RAR folder?

I downloaded the wav. First volume I listened to was 18, several problems there. Then back to Volume 1 and heard a few.

Hello rewind, can you give me a few examples of which songs are being clipped so I can compare with my files? I really want to get this right for everyone.

Some examples I heard so far...

Volume 1 --
Secession - Sneakyville *

Volume 2 --
Thomas Leer - Memories Of Reason
U-Bahn-X - Young Hearts Of Europe *
Vis-A-Vis - Shadow Play

Volume 18 --
Blancmange - Lose Your Love *
M+M - Cooling The Medium
Scary Thieves - Behind The Lines
Dead Or Alive - In Too Deep *

* very obvious in these particular tracks

The problem is more evident in songs that have a hard start rather than a fade up. Sometimes it's on'y a fraction of a second.

Has anyone else experienced issues with intro clipping or sound? I've double checked on my end and all is well! Any feedback is welcome.......

I don't seem to have any problems with the tracks. I think some are immediate starts so it sounds like there is clipping. I can kind of see what rewind is referring to but it's really too close to call for me. It might be the slightest of a fraction of a second on a few of the tracks but I think that's it.

Gazebo, thank you for taking the time to upload these! I had only heard of your series through some posts here a long time ago, and there are some songs and versions I've never heard before. I'm going to get started on them tomorrow.

I'm getting them in WAV, since I prefer lossless whenever possible.

And Eddie, thanks for the information on the best way to download them from mega. I'll have to get busy over the weekend.

This is great! I had the whole set back in the day.
I still have a memory of opening the box with the discs inside.
I was a dumb-ass and turned all of my CDs into 128k MP3s and got rid of all of my discs.
Anyone who states that they can't tell the difference between MP3s and Lossless has a tin ear.
I've been replacing those CDs ever since then.
This series was a precursor to many CD reissues in the years that followed.
You had a lock on the rare and unreleased that still holds up today.
Music is made to be listened to - not locked away in some masters vault.
Thank for all of your hard work.
