Danish band the Pinups

Danish band the Pinups

Postby Ollie Stench » Wed Aug 28, 2019 8:16 am

Hey guys, I haven't been on here in years but now I must mine the Brain trust.
A friend of mine emailed me today asking if I knew of a 1981ish Danish New Wave band called The Pin-Ups. He said they were a male band with a female singer, and only had a record released in Denmark.
My first thought was the California Pinups who had the song "New Wave Lover" but he is adamant that's not the band he's looking for
Anyone know who he might be talking about?

Your friend is right: https://www.discogs.com/The-Pin-Ups-Tak ... se/6299596
A brief outline of band here: http://danskpunk.blogspot.com/2011/04/pin-ups.html
Translator of google shows up this:

Pin-Ups (1980-1983) was a Danish new wave band. The band debuted in Salt Warehouse in September 1980, playing warm-up for the Warm Guns. Pin-Ups played for the generation event NOW! 80 in the house in Magstræde and a selection of concerts in the Rock Machine, including along with No Knox and Before. The band's last performance was on October 26, 1983 for a concert in Radiohuset, recorded and broadcast in DR P3 in November 1983.

The members of the Pin-Ups were Katrine Ring (vocals), Michael Hillerup (bass, also in Brats and Birmingham 6), Kim Løhde Petersen (guitar, vocals), Carsten Petersen (guitar, vocals), Niels Nahmensen (drums). Later members include Mikael Højris (bass) and Søren Santini Skov (drums).

Pin-Ups was a further development of the band Raven.
