An Introduction To Dutch New Wave Vol. 36

Postby Rissan » Mon Feb 24, 2020 1:02 am

Nearly two months ago I thought I had presented enough Dutch New Wave to you. 35 Volumes in three years, I thought I call it a day. But soon it turned out, although I brought you quit a lot of new names, I didn't present you the whole bunch. I know i can't deliver you all the Dutch bands which were making New Wave, Synthpop, Gothic or Alternative music in the period of 1977-1988, but I could try to get as close as possible. So somewhere halfway of January I reduced the list of groups, which i was desperate to find, mainly because I was curious about their music as well. A couple of Discogs orders later I was pretty sure I had a new Volume on the break of release. The result is a diverse list of tracks and bands of which 90% was never presented in a digital format before.

The tracks:

01. The Whisper Mode - No Romance (3:25)
02. European Syndrome - The Well (4:44)
03. Vlis - Never Think Of It (4:09)
04. Sanity Commission - The Widow Of Wilson (3:22)
05. New Image - Did It Really Happen (2:54)
06. Self Control - Highway (4:27)
07. Clinch - Rebecca (3:23)
08. The Softies - Suicide Pilot (demo) (3:11)
09. Jacob ter Veldhuis - Revolution (3:44)
10. Witty Titty - St. Tropez (3:49)
11. People's Republic - Life Is Boring Part I (4:50)
12. Fresh Up - Risky kiss ! (3:51)
13. Snowhite - We Can Make It (3:48)
14. Kimono - Luxery Tears (4:04)
15. Beau Regard - Dancing In The Dark (3:43)
16. Killed In Action - Danger Zone (4:26)
17. Wisselink - Too Shy To Love (3:13)
18. The Spivs - Shadows And Whispers (3:30)
19. Stock - Is There A Place (3:35)
20. Ego - Irresistable (2:53)
21. The Cocon Shrinking - There Is No Soul In A Chip (3:40)

The cover: This is the Church Bridge over the Old Rijn in Leiden. The picture was taken on the first of February this year when I visited Leiden to see an exhibition of The Young Rembrandt at the Lakenhal (Cloth Hall) Museum.

Enjoy the music, like I enjoyed creating this new Volume.
