Share: NEW! Lost But Not Forgotten 80's Volume 11

Hello all,

Hope everyone is doing well! As promised, here is Volume 11! One of my favorite overlooked tracks on this set and brings back great memories of the CFNY Spirit Of Radio days is "Un-Alone" by Translator. Also, how Peter Coyle's "Everyone Knows" has never officially appeared on CD is truly beyond me! Please note, I have done my best to remaster all the tracks including those from CD's that needed a bit of tweaking. If I have used tracks that have appeared on others previous compilations, I apologize as this was not intentional! I had worked on these tracks quite some time ago and simply wanted to share them in lossless WAV format with the best sound possible. I will leave the link up for one week while I work on Volume 12!

I hope you enjoy!

Paul (Gazebo Music)

Ps: Feedback always welcome!

Pss: Please, this in NO way is intended to take away sales from any of the artists included here but rather a way to discover or rediscover these timeless masterpieces as many of them have never officially appeared on CD or are long "Out Of Print". Please support these bands if they should have material available! They deserve all the credit!

Nice to see Lorelei of The Explorers. Their compilation Complete Explorers have been in my CD player the past week.

And with several people working on compilations these days It is hard to find tracks that another one did not used on a compilation. F.E. Marginal Era was on your volume 10, while I present It also on Volume 117. Well those things happen, and I guess It is the charm and the surprise of presenting a compilation.

Thanks Ris, Regarding The Explorers, "Venus De Milo" has always been my favorite track by them with "Lorelei" a close second! Agree, great band regardless! As for Marginal Era "This Heaven", that could be on everyone's comps and I wouldn't mind one bit lol! Such a beautiful track! I may one day try to piece together the instrumental and original version to make an Extended Mix. Finlay, you're absolutely correct about trying not to duplicate tracks others have posted but I just look at it as New Wave fans with same great tastes :D ! Cheers

Thanks Gazebo!

Lorelei: I never heard it when it was released. Years later, I heard it and assumed it was Roxy Music, until I found out it wasn't.

Does anyone have the 7' version of Lorelei in lossless?

Thank you Mus, The 7” Version of “Lorelei” is actually on an upcoming volume lol. As for thinking it was Roxy Music, you were very close! Both Phil Manzanera and Andy MacKay were in the band and later left to form The Explorers. Cheers

Endgames is a strange band.

They started in 1982 with such an amazing song like First-Last-For Everything, continued on in 1983 with a classic Waiting For Another Chance, but by the 1985 single sounds like they have completely lost their inspiration.....

Xymox970, Endgames definitely started off on the darker side actually dating back to 79-80 and then began to turn towards the pop / dance category almost as to impress the masses / record labels which in turn was their demise! In Toronto, “First, Last For Everything” (one of my all time favs) was huge and one of the most sought after 12” records fetching $300-500 for a mint copy pre the internet. I payed mine $80 in 85-86 because he was a friend lol! Today it sells for under $5, So sad! Cheers!

If I have used tracks that have appeared on others previous compilations, I apologize as this was not intentional!

It is absolutely no problem at all, in fact it's almost unavoidable given that there's only so much you can choose from. You're right, it's a totally "great minds think alike" situation, and for me it's a chance to check if there's a different source to the recording. And also a chance to check other songs on the LP, say, to pay attention to other songs and not go for the obvious one :D
