The Unknown Beauty Of The 80's Vol. 130

Postby Rissan » Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:02 am

As I told you last week my NGO is in a very busy strategy weeks, which starts with a second week this morning. I have to be honest to say that it is hard to keep track with the speakers, when you sitting in front of your computer screen with a headphone on. Also the connections with Africa are not always of the high standard we are used to in the West.
The result of a day with headphones on is, that you are not in the mood to spend your private time in front of a computer screen.

So unfortuantly this thematic volume lacks the information. But it is always nice to investigate for yourself and found out how the originals sounds.

As I wrote in earlier intros, the radio program Spleen was a great initiator in my musical taste during the early eighties. This program featured some fixed weekly items, one of which was “The cover of week”. So most of the tracks featured on this Volume you can reduce to this radio show.

The tracks:

01. Peter Baumann - Strangers In The Night (3:54)
02. Big Black - The Model (2:34)
03. Anita Lane - Lost In Music (4:45)
04. Martha And The Muffins - motorbikin' (2:58)
05. Ronny - Of You Want Me To Stay (4:17)
06. The Look - Tonight (5:07)
07. Lloyd Cole And The Commotion - Glory (2:42)
08. Rowland S. Howard & Lydia Lunch - Some Velvet Morning (4:25)
09. Toyah - School's Out (3:59)
10. Aztec Camera - Jump (2:53)
11. Billy Brag - Fear Is A Man's Best Friend (2:32)
12. Krisma - I'm Not In Love (3:42)
13. Mike + The Mechanics - Revolution (4:01)
14. Exotica Maximus - Paint It Black (2:42)
15. Rainy Day - I'll Be Your Mirror (2:35)
16. Glass Museum - Day Tripper (4:19)
17. Arthur Brown & Craig Leon - Not Fade Away (3:58)
18. Fast Radio - Under My Thumb (5:18)
19. Clock DVA - Black Angels Death Song (3:32)
20. The Dance Society - 2000 Light Years From Home (4:01)
21. Elvis Costello - Shipbuilding (4:53)

spoiler alert: next week will be a thematic Volume again.

Meanwhile enjoy.
