The Unknown Beauty Of The 80's Vol. 142

Postby Rissan » Tue Jan 12, 2021 4:35 am

This week in the continuing story of the unknown beauty of the 80's I present you Volume 142. The main core of this compilation represent tracks from 1979-1983, filled up with several tracks from 1984, 1986, 1988 and 1989.
Again the main style is New Wave with side styles of Power Pop, Art Rock, Synthpop, Pop Rock, Punk, Alternative Rock and Gothic.

Just a question out of curiosity: Who recognize the guitar riff from the Bram Tchaikovsky track and can tell me which huge hit from a major artist was used as inspiration?
And yes, this inspiration track was released four years earlier in 1975.

The tracks:

01. The Boys - Weekend (2:52)
02. Wreckless Eric - A Popsong (3:25)
03. Industrials - Voodoo Island (3:33)
04. Shades Of May - Distant Memories (3:20)
05. +1 - Young Europens (2:25)
06. Bram Tchaikovsky - Girl Of My Dreams (3:53)
07. Johnny Zhivago - Echo (4:00)
08. Moderne - Switch On Bach (3:05)
09. 15 Minutes - That's What You Always Say (3:57)
10. The Attractions - Single Girls (2:28)
11. 74T7 - Dream On (2:45)
12. City Kent - Blixtar (4:15)
13. Mark Lane - White Glove (3:35)
14. The Rumour - Frozen Years (3:31)
15, Ruts DC - Different View (album version) (4:06)
16. T.V. Smith's Explorers - Tomahawk Cruise (4:25)
17. The Professionals - Join The Profressionals (3:19)
18. pragVEC - Expert (3:11)
19. Mystery's V's - No Message (3:15)
20. 2nd. Decay - Killing Desire (6:23)
21. Theatre Of Hate - The Hop (2:51)
22. Royal Family And The Poor - Restrained In A Moment (5:09)
