<br>I have three Japanese of BHTA. Two sealed one opened. I bought them a while ago when they were going for $18 each. I got lucky, seeing a used one on ebay for $50 + & time still left. [:0]

May be U can check your copies, the CD could be printed in Japan but made in Korea.

[Ya,your right, printed in Japan but made in Korea. My X friend lost my original US version back in the early 90`s. [:(!]]

So what's the consensus? Are these phony CDs this guy is selling or real? I don't want to get scammed. After realizing these Japanese CDs weren't as great as I thought *cough* Haircut 100 *cough* I'm not so eager to buy.

Though the Orange Juice "You Can't Hide Your Love Forever" sounds pretty good, IMO.

I don`t know much about the seller on EBAY, but the ones that I bought at record store a few years ago that have the Japanese print but made in Korea sound great to me. I even owned the US version, & I didn`t notice a sound quality differents. The guy on EBAY might be a distributor or has owned a record store & has alot of back stock. I hope that helps. If this is the same guy, he has excellent feedback. Kind Regards

Finally the CD went for $90, the guy who wanted it most finally lost or the smarter won.... If U really want a CD, U should not try to save a few bucks, unless U are ready to face disaster. I lost 2 years ago Cactus World News on ebay Germany because I had computed my bid on the price of the remastered plus a little bonus. Since then my style is massive bid in the last 30", exactly what the sellers don't like because bidders and cheaters (friends of the seller) don't have time to respond.

I'm a bit puzzled by this seller, he has the tendency to sell the sames CD's again and again...Orange Juice, Paul Weller etc

hey lakay,

this jap guy is okay, maybe Japan has plenty of rare CDs still for sale. Any plans of visiting the land of the rising sun?

Yeah he seems OK coz he got plenty of feedbacks and he ships fast, may be, he is just smart coz most of the time he manages to sell his CD's a very good price.

That was me who won that CD in the cited ebay auction. I'll let you know when it arrives.

Thanx for the feedback, but in my opinion U put your hidden bid too early. U had only one competitor, possibly connected to the seller, who pushed the bidding higher and higher. U would have placed your massive bid 30" before the end of the auction, you would have got the CD much cheaper may be half-price.

Perhaps you are right. But I've been screwed countless times by bid sniping and didn't feel like a chance. Either way, I placed the bid and was obligated to pay the price. I outbid the first bidder and he was the only one to have any follow up bids. I doubt he was a shill bidder for the seller but obviously that is not unheard of. The album could be reissued next week and I'll feel like an idiot. These things remain to be seen but as it stands, I accept the fact I probably over paid for the CD. However, it is going for generally the same price on the Amazon marketplace. I could have opted to buy the US release though I was unsure as to whether or not this Japanese pressing is identical to the US pressing (insofar as fidelity goes). The CD definitely has that late 80s CD era feel of being slightly underwhelming in terms of the lower end. On the other hand, that could be a case of this being a jangle-pop type album and not characterized by deep bass.

If I had to bet, the Japanese reissue is the same pressing as the US CD. Oh well.

I really enjoy the Bringing Home The Ashes album. I also got the Incandescent compilation. I love that as well but I hate it for another reason. It sounds SO much better than the Bringing Home The Ashes album and it is almost painful to go and listen to such lovely tracks like Now and Forever and Northern England on the BHTA issue versus the Incandescent set. BHTA really needs a remastering job as nice as Incandescent. Sigh.
