I've listened to the digital release of 'Shades of Liberty' and it sounds decent (although unfortunately I can hear quite a few dropouts), and has been overly compressed (but this album is crying out to be played loud anyway).

The only drop out I noticed was on That's Life (In The Real World) at around 1:21. The rest of it sounds fine to me. There's a bit of compression but not much. Certainly hasn't been brick walled.
The only thing apart from that drop out that really bothered me is the way they separated tracks 1 & 2
