Dead Kennedys

Postby Borneojimy » Wed Nov 02, 2005 7:24 am

Next week the reformed Dead Kennedys are playing fairly close to here. Does anybody have any feedback on what they are like these days? It's without Jello Biafra, so I'm expecting a sad imitation of the classic line up, but is it worth going anyway? My son really wants me to take him, so I'll probably go, but I really do have mixed feelings.

They've been getting pretty good reviews since Jeff Penalty took over for Brandon Cruz...(yes, the Courtship of Eddie's Father kid)...I had a friend who saw them in Virginia last year and said they were great. And I wouldn't hold out hope for a Biafra sighting, since they finally settled the lawsuit with their label that stuck some blame on Jello for knowing they were being shortchanged and keeping it from the band. last I heard there's some acrimony there between him D.J. Peligro, East Bay Ray and Klaus Flouride.

Yeah, I've decided that we are going to go, it'll at least be interesting. The downfall is that the openers are some jazz fusion band. WTF???
