I'm not going to say too much about last night, because it'll all sound like hyperbole. It really was very very special to me. And you seriously got your money's worth with two nearly full Bunnymen sets plus an excellent Glasvegas. First review I've seen here:

The hits set came first, and it was a real crowd-pleaser that still had some unexpected selections. The Cutter certainly was the proper finisher given the crowd's ecstatic reaction to it:

Lips Like Sugar | Rescue | Bring on the Dancing Horses | New Song | All That Jazz | The Back of Love | All My Colours | People are strange | Nothing Lasts Forever/Walk on the Wild Side | The Cutter

Then came the Ocean Rain set, whose setlist I'm assuming most here can take a wild stab at. A complete surprise to me was how utterly fantastic Thorn of Crowns was. For me, it didn't surpass the actual Ocean Rain song itself (nothing could), but wow what a rush. And then the Ocean Rain finale...fuggedaboutit. I was in la la land.

Great seeing Schwenko and Ebbhead (and his very nice friends) again. Sorry to have missed Cubby and Jason (we waited around outside but obviously huge crowd). So what epic new wave revisitation is next?! [8D]

Ian McColloch was VERY happy to be back in NYC- the audience really reacted to the NYC references in Walk on the Wild Side.

Blir, couldn't have said it any better. Fantastic night. Got there a little too late though to see Glasvegas. Brought back so many memories. Sorry that we missed you guys. Good to meet Schwenko again. Next time, we have to get our asses up there a little earlier so we can meet up before the show.

Incredible night. I was perhaps a little underwhelmed with the orchestra. I'd assumed it was a full orchestra (not a 16 pc), so that was my setting the bar a little too high. Not to take anything away from them. I'd just expected slightly more dramatic swells. Though there were certainly swells and swoons.

That said, amazing set(s). And it was nice to see Ian as opposed to him being back lit by strobes or obscured in fog, as usual. Though he complained constantly for them to turn down the lights. You can take the boy out of the fog...

The first half was killer. Ocean Rain set was brilliant. (I hope more bands take this cue and play full album sets. True treat for fans.) And though I complained about the size of the backing orchestra, it was still pretty amazing hearing the lovely Ocean Rain album with live strings.

Thorn of Crowns with the b-b-b-brilliant, as Blir pointed out, and My Kingdom was amazing. As was the inclusion of Take a Walk on the Wild Side, Beatles' Don't Let Me Down and Wilson Pickett's In the Midnight Hour during People Are Strange. I don't believe they did PAS in London, so that was nice.

Good seeing schwenko and Blir again, and of course the always lovely cootie girl who celebrated her birthday there.

The various review comments about Ian being in great voice are dead-on. I saw him in an almost ridiculously different setting a couple of years ago for the Siberia tour at tiny Toad's Place in New Haven CT. We were right in front of Ian and his monitor - very intimate. He was very jovial with the crowd and I could actually understand what he was saying (NO idea what the hell he was going on about last night!). The gig was great, but we all thought his voice was kinda shot. He either rested up or worked on it for this show, because it was fanstastic last night. I'm talking old days fantastic. I saw the original Ocean Rain tour back in college (with a bunch of dorm mates!). He sounded as good as he did back then tonight. It may have been the great Radio City sound. Whatever the case, "screeeeeaming....from beneath...the...waaaaaaaaaves..." rocked me!

BTW, anyone remember my adventure set to Ocean Rain during a Bar Harbor storm? Unfortunately, pics are missing from that thread it illustrates how special Ocean Rain has been to me. [:I]

Yeah, I think the setlist was a bit different in London. I think they did Villiers Terrace and Never Stop in London but no PAS. And was there some sort of scuffle down front?? I thought I saw security hall someone out of there.

Something else I just remembered? I knew the words to most every song...and sang along, proably obnoxiously, to almost every one too. A really special album. I can't think of another that I would have wanted a band to do more. Hey, sounds a thread topic!

You guys are so lucky!!! Bands like this dont come to Vegas, and if they do, they charge an arm and a leg for tix. I'd love to see E&TB, I don't know why they didnt do a sort of "mini tour" of the states? Hell, I'd go to Socal to see them, or Utah, or AZ if they didnt come to Vegas.

We're not getting the Cure or AC/DC here at all......so I'm already bummed, this just makes it worse.
