I thought that the NY and LA audiences were different:

In LA it seemed to be an older crowd, overwhelmingly male, and, it seemed to me, gay. And definitely the most rabid, boisterous,and vocal!

NY audiences were younger, with a more equal m/f ratio. I thought the T5 audience was more "out there" than the more conventional Beacon crowd. And both were enthusiastic, but again, not as much as LA.

I know I'm a little late in saying this but Saturday's show was incredible.I actually got teary eyed when Alison and Vince got on stage. Many thanks to Marv for driving Miss Daisy and I to the show. And nice to meet Schwenko!

Will post when there's accurate airdate info in the main General New Wave forum as well so no one misses it, but the 2nd LA show was taped for air on Sirius' First Wave channel. Blade mentioned this when he was intro'ing the show.

Looks like it might air on First Wave some time next week (w/o 7/28), with interviews that Richard Blade did with Vince and Alf. [:D][8D][:D]

I mentioned before that my date had never seen so many [i]happy[/i] people in one place[}:)][:X] I know it's totally gauche, but I had to sing along to some of them tunes - esp. "Nobody's Diary," "Tuesday," "Goodbye 70s," and a few of the rest. It was a total blast from the future[}:)]

I felt a bit bad I didn't buy more shirts. I only got a brown and grey shirts. I shoulda bought the black tour shirt, but black fades so bad after a few times (and, believe me you, I have to wear these to show off[8D] ).

Alf evidently said at the Costa Mesa show "This is our last time together" or "This is the last one forever" [:(]

The testicle piercing bass on Too Pieces is much better indoors but still spine tingling."

I don't know if Too Pieces was testicle piercing, but it was one of my favorite songs of the night. I hope they put this concert out on cd. I need to have it!

Well, they filmed the first night at Terminal 5, so it's very possible that'll see a release at some point. Also, Sirius may be airing the show from 7/10 in LA, so there should be pretty decent copies floating around within hours of the airing via all the usual suspects.

Very sad if that were true. Though I already got more than I ever could have hoped for. When the rumors of a possible one-off show commemorating the 25the anniversary was discussed, that alone would have been enough for me. But a US tour? Well, they were one of 3 defunked new wave/indie bands I *needed* to see. So I'm happy.

Finally found what I had been looking for for at least a month; the "electro" remix of Situation.

My problem was that that isn't the actual name of the remix; but when I first heard it 25 years ago the dj (Burt Thomas, WEVO 89.9 FM Concord, NH) referred to it as such.

It's actually called the "re-recorded remix". Originally released on vinyl, it popped up on the Nobody's Diary/State Farm cd single (Mute CDYAZOO003 which was released in 1996 (and is still available I presume). 7:20 of extended bliss! Also it seems to be a track on Disc 3 of the recently released box set.

ps. It was my understanding that a live cd of one of the Euro shows was planned for release (so nobody would be concerned about dvd compatibility with their standalone dvd player).

This just in: Yaz(oo)'s LA concert from July 10th will air on Sirius' First Wave channel during the week of August 11th.

Will air at least 4 times on Sirius First Wave. The broadcast will include interviews with Vince & Alison, as well.
