Of course they are not playing here in Phoenix, the cultural wasteland. Oh why did I ever leave NYC?

The Orange County date is Sunday. Pick up your tickets if you still can; it's going to be a full house.

I just got home from the Atlanta, GA show. It was good. Pretty big crowd, too.

disappointment.

ian seems like a dick. he complained over the mic about the lights, the sound, the lights, the lights, and the lights. it seemed to me like that stage was the very last place on earth ian wanted to be.

they stuck to the setlist but we left after killing moon as it was already 11:30 pm. the horrible opening band went on stage at 9:10 and finished at 9:45. echo did not come on stage until 10:55. more than an hour between bands? ridiculous. at one point i leaned over to the fuclone's mamma and axed her how she thought crack might react to this band's rudeness?

and the ticketmaster and shipping charges doubled the price of the tickets.
not please with the whole echo experience.
i did enjoy the time with my wife. we had a lovely dinner.
and that is all.

Sir Blir,

Well, there isn't much to tell. Ian stood there and sang a bunch of songs then I went home. It wasn't an exciting show, but a *nice* one. The lighting was a cool purple color and created a dreamy atmosphere. The crowd was into it. The sound was distorted, though.

When I arrived to buy a ticket, I got there at about 9:15PM. Some (totally cool) dude was standing by the box office and offered me a free ticket. I bought him a shot of Jaeg. So, I basically got in for free but I am still not enthused.

The boys started playing at about 9:35PM and were done just before 11:00PM.

Well, the Bunnymen at Toad's in New Haven were fabulous. Ian was very animated, speaking to the crowd and making all his funky movements & gestures. We got right up to stagefront. His vocal mix was a little soft, likely because we were picking up a lot of the bass and rhythm monitors more-so than the PAs. But it was a rocking 90+ minute, 2-encore set that seemed to leave the audience pretty floored. The varied lighting with lots of swirling smoke, twinkling background star-lights, and different spot effects lent a phenomenal atmosphere.

Maybe it's 'cause CT doesnt get a lot of great acts, the crowd was live. Whatever it was, Mac seemed to feed off it. Do It Clean, Cutter and other classics absolutely ROCKED! Seven Seas was almost religious. Will Sargeant was epic on The Killing Moon with his 12-string. They blew the audience away with the Door's Roadhouse Blues (!) and the opener of their first encore, Lou Reed's Walk on the Wild Side (!!). My highlight was the close of the show with an at first ethereal then crushing Ocean Rain - my very favorite song of theirs, WOW.

Thorougly enjoyed Mac and the boys! If you go, don't look for perfection - just get into it and enjoy. Highly recommended for fans in Philly, Boston, NYC.

Sounds like it was a FAB show Blir.

Especially since you saw fit to stay up and post a review after the gig! (any pix?)[8)]

I'm still totally bummed that LI'rs won't likely get to see such bands play here now that our last decent local venue 'The Downtown' has since closed it's doors..[V]

I went to the Irving Plaza show in NYC on Saturday. No compliants about the band, they sounded awesome and played for a decent amount of time. It took forever for them to come on though. I think maybe 1115?
