Tickets on sale this Friday. As far as I can tell, this doesn't look like it's part of a tour but rather a one-off. The last time she did that at the Nokia Theater in Times Square in December of 2006, it was an absolutely fantastic show.

Following the release of their critically-acclaimed fourth album Seventh Tree, Goldfrapp will perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA on April 25. The band will then play the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco on April 26 and the Beacon Theatre in New York City on April 29. Please see complete show information below.

Just back from a great Goldfrapp concert at the Beacon Theater! Allison G was in top form tonight, although she told everybody that the whole band had colds. And she was her cantankerous self ("I sound like shit"!), cursing about the sound system ("technical problems"), and even lambasting the audience for not standing up and dancing ("it's been 45 minutes already!") after lulling us into a docile state with a bunch of folk/hippie and lounge songs[:D].

The sound and sight lines were great! I had heard bad things about the Beacon Theater, but I think it's a great venue.

The music played prior to Goldfrapp was very strange; sounded like sea shantys, midevil Druid songs etc. And finally, as Goldfrapp was about to step onto stage, a sample of Jefferson Airplane's "Triad" from 1968's Crown of Creation album; I'm sure I was the only one in the audience that recognized it[:(]

Goldfrapp opened with "Paper Bag" from Felt Mountain, followed by the lovely "A & E" from the latest album 7th Tree. Then back to Felt Mountain for "Utopia".

From this point on I lost track of the set list, but it included a number of songs from 7th Tree, including "Clowns" (I think), the fantastic "Caravan Girl" and the totally tripped-out "Little Bird".

After berating the audience for not standing up and dancing they launched into "Number 1" from Supernature (problem solved[:D]), followed by the most intense, funked out electro "Strict Machine". FANTASTIC!!!!.

The encore consisted of "Ooh La La" ("hillbilly version") and the wonderful "Happiness" from 7th Tree.

Allison looked great, barefoot in her Baby Dolls.

You think?! You said most of it Schwenko. This gig was truly nothing short of INCREDIBLE!!! The set mix and staging were just perfect I thought. You knew it was going to have a big dose of some hippie/trippie shit when the six backup musicians - with their harps, mandolins, 12-strings, and violins - walked on in all-white peasant/druid garb - hilarious. Then wow, Allison's pink butt-length babydoll, woof.

I don't recall ever being as eager to see what kind of setlist a band would produce - they had so many directions they could go. I was ecastatic that they pulled out the ethereal Brown Paper Bag and Utopia from Felt Mountain - amazing. But it wasn't just some mellow head-trip gig by any means. The Little Bird track was superbly subversive, starting off all airy then ripping hard into early 60s Led Zep-like guitar riffing - magnificent, honestly. Then that version of Strict Machine Schwenko mentioned was just the most gritty, dirty, growly, crunchy and downright wicked affair I might have ever seen from this genre - very hot.

It was just a freakin SHOW. If you get a chance to see Goldfrapp this summer, they're really not to be missed. I totally anticipated some opinions that the gig was going to be judged as 'different' or 'mellower' than some had expected, and people didn't surprised me - I overhead some of those exact comments. These were probably folks whose only exposure was to Goldfrapp's disco/glam side of the two middle albums. I thought this gig took in all that plus reached back to the cinematic trip-out of Felt Mountain and evovled it all to a whole other level by mixing in the very creative Seventh Tree material. Great great great stuff.

OMG, I never realized just how shrimpy she is...either that or Leno is really Hagrid with a shave.

That's pretty freakin' epic, and it doesn't even begin to convey how awesome it was in person. An absolute fucking trip of a performance.
