Seriously thinking of going to this show, probably will just wing it and see if tickets are still available the day of the show, The Detroit Cobras opening up.

I would love a review if you go. I saw 'em a few years ago in Seattle and loved it...Billy Zoom still had his signature sarcastic grin as he tossed out those awesome X guitar riffs.

A review would most likely include confirmation about Billy Zoom's grin, much like here:

Gotta say though that now it's almost a bit too comical a grin versus a bit more crazed and staring back in the old days.

Thanks for the link...Billy's grin does appear to be a bit on the cheery side, for sure.
I didn't see them in the 80's, and when I caught the early 90's version it didn't quite seem like X. But, I was very happy to catch them around 5 years ago when Billy came back on board. Just to remind me what an idiot I was for not going to see them in the early days, I just came across a 1982 tape I made of KYYX radio in Seattle, including between song banter from the DJ about an upcoming X show and how great it's going to be. Sure, rub it in.

Saw X close to 20 times during the 80s.I think the shows now are as good as ever..everyone is sober and "having much more fun" as the song goes.Great show with the D Cobras at Irving plaza !

They're still on tour. Just read that they'll be in Nor Cal in Sept, although their site doesn't list current dates:

Has anyone been to their show since SXSW? Comments?
