Bruce Gilbert is no longer in the band.
I think they should've changed their name to "Wie", but the cute golfer girl probably would've sued them. [:p]

Yeah, bummer he's out, but they still sound good. No chance for me to see them on this tour, unfortunately.

from PinkFlag.com (or maybe posteverything)
There also remain a couple of US shows that are not yet confirmed, so keep an eye out on the front of the Pinkflag.com website for further additions. More European shows should also join the above line-up.

Oh good. Well, even if it happens to be a SoCal date, that would be good enough for a roadie. I drove to San Diego to see them in 2002 (well worth it, of course). Coop's right, some bands just skip over Phoenix and play Tucson. Maybe it's that straight shot on the 8 from S.D. that makes a band's travel plans easier. I've driven down to Tucson a couple of times to see The Fixx, and once to see Thomas Dolby.

re: Tucson instead of Phoenix: As someone who keeps an eye on shows (or lack thereof) in the SouthWest, I have noticed that too, coop. I wonder why this is ?

I think tenohtwo is exactly right, it is an easier drive. I was just talking to a club owner here Thursday night that has booked bands for over 20 years, he said the Fixx called him as they were touring but his new club doesn't have the capacity so they just passed on coming to town.

did any of you see them at the FREE show they did May 30 at the South Street Seaport to kick of the River to River shows? I had found out about it the day before - it was a nice start to the summer concerts I must say!
