I have to go do laundry, so I won't call this a full-fledged review . . .

My boys were great as always but I can't say it was quite as amazing as last year . . . my guy and my friend's husband were with us so maybe we felt too inhibited to throw our panties, figuratively speaking. I think audience butt-crack moments may have thrown me (see NNNW).

Alex wore a red and black narrow-striped jersey, one of those that used to proclaim "I'm a punky New Waver" circa 1979, and skinny skinny pants. His chemistry with Nick is really amazing.

I've been a good little girl and have avoided illegal downloads so I wasn't completely up on the new songs. One opened with the same bass/drum as "Radar Love" so for a long tantalizing moment I thought they were going to cover Golden Earring. One was very British Invasion pop; one was a disco thump/ballad combo that was a little too schizo for me. Crowd favorites included "Take Me Out" (duh), "Matinee," "Michael," and "Do You Want To," which has grown on me a lot.

Opening bands:
Cut Copy, a now familiar rehash of E&Bmen, New Order, Joy Division. Derivative, but at least derivative of stuff I like.
TV on the Radio: Not sure what they were. Didn't enjoy.

Wow, must've been a good show Hex. Can't wait for them to pass through the NY area.
