No MAS, No MAS!!!

Postby ben_at_work » Thu Apr 20, 2006 4:07 am

Hey! I just realized MAS got his name from Peter Shelly's "Telephone Operator"
Telephone Operator, you're my Aural Stimulator!!!
Sweeeeeeeeet!!!

Stupid Peter Shelly [V]

edit- "No Mas, No Mas", what Roberto Duran (Duran) said after the 3rd round in his rematch with Sugar Ray Leonard, in what was to become known as the "No Mas Fight". His excuse was that he had eaten a big steak before the fight (which is common for Boxers to do) and he was getting cramps. Sugar Ray (7up pitchman) in retirement confessed to useing coke, which conflicted with his 7up gig. Some of the best fight i've ever watched were Leonard vs Hearns, Leanard vs Hagler, Leonard vs Duran. At least he wasnt on steroids....

Oh, dang! You found me out!

I was told that an aural stimulator was something which one of those Star Trek folks used. I never watch the show, so I can't be more precise.

I knew this wasn't it, I'm just perverted, but I always pictured some kind of sonic sex toy with MAS's name. Um, yeah, it's just me isn't it.[:I]

No, you were correct about the Pete Shelley bit. In fact, in the thread from long ago (I've since forgotten it's title--something about how we chose our names here), I explained that I chose my name from my favorite Pete Shelley song. I think if anyone can find that thread, we should resurrect it, as there are many new members here, and knowing the background to their names would be quite interesting reading.
