Can anyone here help me? I'm looking for a program for the MAC computer that will allow me to give my mp3 files clean fades

Apple's Garageband will do it for free. A cheapo Bias Peak LE package will have further basic editing options you might need.

Just be careful if any software requires that you decode the MP3. This is not true MP3 editing software. It is WAV/AIF software, meaning that you will lose quality when it re-encodes the file back to MP3.
The only program I know that can do MP3 fades is MP3DirectCut, but it is for Windows -> http://www.mpesch3.de/
