On the Road Again

Back in Bangalore again: a city whose name, with the addition of a second "g", would be an excellent name for a porno.

Anyway, this morning at breakfast I was reading the paper, and there's a blurb for The Spastic Society's walkathon. For me, this conjures images of Gary Larson-esqe or Dilbert-like characters getting together, being socially awkward, mumbling and avoiding eye contact, all while walking around for some reason. I am occasionally Dilbert-like and often socially awkward, so it's easy for me to conjure this up.

Turns out, it's an organization that helps kids with CP and similar disabilities. At least I didn't stick my foot in my mouth and make a joke about the org's name to one of my co-workers here. But I was tempted. Still am, sort of. Nothing like those gaping moments of silence that follow after trying to explain, "I get that it's a noble cause, but see a name like this is funny where I come from. Let me tell you why..."
